Project Initiation
During the initiation phase of the project management process, a project charter was developed. Deliberate and well-thought out, this document defines the project’s objectives and scope, its limits, the deliverables and identifies the stakeholders, including the project manager who will be coordinating the project. It also lists a schedule of when project milestones would be complete; defines assumptions and constraints; and outlines any risks that could preclude successful and on-time project completion. These elements are necessary to keep stakeholders and project contributors focused, on schedule and within budget.
