Design Document

This document outlines the process used to develop a design plan for creating a Reusable Learning Object (RLO). Part of a larger tutorial, the RLO was designed to stand alone to meet the following objectives:

  • Learners will identify the five credit score categories lenders use when talking about credit.

  • Using the five credit score categories, learners will distinguish what categories are considered below average, average and above average.

  • Given the numerical ranges of the different credit score categories, learners will interpret their credit score in relation to its corresponding category and identify whether it is considered below average, average or above average.

  • Understanding the different credit score categories, learners will distinguish the difference in financial savings as a credit score increases.

The RLO was developed for young adults interested in establishing and/or maintaining good credit. Because it is a smaller reusable unit of information, it can also be used with other audiences and in other formats.
